How To Yield A Return Of 518% From Your Blog In 2 Years

how to start a online business

Time Flies!

As I write this post, Run For Wealth turned 2 years on 1 October 2016.

And what a crazy 2 years it has been.

I often get asked, “why on earth do you spend so much time blogging?”. In my monthly activity reports, you will notice that I spend, on average, over 10 hrs per month researching and writing content.

Since inception (September 2014), I have published 47 posts on this blog (excluding the monthly activity reports).

That’s a lot of writing.

So those who ask “why” are actually asking a damn good question.

In this blog post, I want to highlight why I do this by showing:

  1. How I have generated a minimum ROI of 518% in the 2 years
  2. How I intend generating the same return in the business I launched on 1 October 2016

How I generated and ROI of 518% in 2 years

The calculations…

I launched Run For Wealth in September 2014. To date, the cost of investment is R13 822 as per the screenshot below:

The costs, as indicated above were for:

  • OptimizePress: a tool I use to create Landing and Sales pages
  • Market Samurai: Keyword Research tool
  • Ipage: Domain registration and hosting
  • GerResponse: E-mail marketing and communication tool

I have then taken a view that Nike+Run Club (a project I found as a result of this blog) has generated revenue of R104 000 over a 13 month period for my work as Head Coach in Joburg.

I started in July 2015. So, the calculation is from 1 August 2015 to 31 August 2016.

Why R8 000? Well, it’s just a cool number. I get paid more, but for contractual reasons, I can’t divulge the exact amount.

But, that’s besides the point. The point of this post is to highlight a 518% return in 2 years. And R8 000 just happened to be appropriate figure.

Below is the ROI calculations, taking the revenue into consideration:

How the Blog contributed to the above…

Let’s be honest, this article would mean nothing if I didn’t show you how this very blog contributed to me being the NRC Head Coach.

So, here it goes.

I started Run For Wealth in 2014 with the number one objective of sharing my running experiences and helping people. That was the primary objective.

Over time, I gathered a following on Social Media. And needless to say, a lot of people were helped.

The secondary objective was to generate revenue through selling training programmes, doing affiliate marketing and offering my expertise and services.

It is important to note from the above that I knew nothing about Nike Run Club. I was simply working hard and smart based on convictions. As God always does, he was working something immaculate behind the scenes.

This is where he took my natural work (the blogging and publishing of my content around running) and merged it with what was to become a super-natural partnership between myself and Nike.

How did God do this?

Well, one of the people that often read my blog posts was a friend of mine. When Nike was looking for a Head Coach and were going through their recruitment process, she then suggested my name. The contact person doing the recruitment at Nike then called me.

We had a very brief chat. It lasted all of 3 – 5 mins.

I was actually driving with a friend and couldn’t talk for long. Before the conversation ended, I then told the contact person at Nike to have a look at the work I was doing in terms of running (what we call a “portfolio” in the corporate world).

And guess what? That portfolio happened to be my Run For Wealth blog!

Here is the correspondence:

We had a chat on May 14 2015. He then sent me an e-mail and requested the rest of his team to have a look at my work.

For obvious reasons, I’ve removed the contact people’s names.

But, the crux of the matter is that you can see how Run For Wealth was the very first reference – way before I got the NRC Head Coach gig.

And, as they say, the rest is history!

It’s on days like this, I am reminded why I need to serve the Almighty God for the rest of my life.

I wasn’t appointed NRC Head Coach in Joburg because I was the best athlete. There are plenty athletes who are better than me.

I wasn’t appointed NRC Head Coach in Joburg because I had contacts at Nike. Prior to this gig, I had ZERO connections to Nike.

I was simply appointed NRC Head Coach because I dared to follow my convictions and dreams, help people and trust that God would take my sincere natural work and add his super natural touch.

And boy did God show up!!!!

How I intend generating the same return in the business I launched on 1 October 2016

I’ve learnt a few key aspects about starting a business over the past couple of years.

Here are 3:

  1. You need to start a business with an idea, convictions and a desire to help
  2. How much you earn and/or invest into the venture is not the most important thing
  3. The return you generate on your investment is more important than how much you invest into a business venture

Based on the above 3 aspects, a very good friend of mine and I have launched Bitcoin Insights.

It is an idea and we have a desire to help our audience get “Time and Financial Freedom through Bitcoin Education”.

My business partner has dedicated some money to invest into the venture. I will dedicate a monthly amount of my income to invest into the project.

The most important thing is that we are targeting a return of 511% over the next 3 years.

Here’s what the calculations look like:

So, my friend has invested R16 485 – once off.

And I will invest R54 000, R1 500 monthly for the next 36 months.

Over the next 3 years, we aim to generate revenue of R360 000. Our objective is to spend the next 12 months building our social media presence and then earn a minimum of $1 000 per month in years 2 and 3.

I’ve applied an average Rand/Dollar exchange rate of 15.

Given the above, our ROI will be 511%.

The exchange rate fluctuates. It could drop and average out to R10 over the next 3 years.

If that happens, our ROI will still be an impressive 340%!

To see how we our going to achieve this and take a minimum of 100 people on this journey with us, go onto Bitcoin Insights, where you’ll be able to watch the “Money Making Opportunity” video.

Conclusion

In the year 2016, business is moving further away from convention.

For many, an online business is completely foreign. And yet, it is one of the best alternatives to taking your talents, gifts and ideas and turning them into an income stream by helping others.

For Bitcoin Insights, we’ll be using a platform called to Wealthy Affiliate to build and monetize the new business venture. Wealthy Affiliate is simply an all inclusive platform that assists people to build an online business from their gifts, talents and interests.
